Two Parenting Tips You Must Do Every Day
Simple Hacks That Will Anchor Your Life in Positivity as a Parent
The Positive Parenting Shift
Okay, let’s be real—there’s A LOT of positivity talk out there these days. Is it helpful? Is it healthy? The truth is that staying positive isn’t just a nice-to-be state of mind; it’s the secret that unlocks the life you’ve been dreaming of.
A positive mindset and outlook on life doesn’t just make the days easier… It sets the tone for your life and family. It means tackling tantrums, messes, and milestones with more ease and a lot more laughter.
Here’s the thing that a lot of the positivity talk doesn’t cover: There are going to be unpleasant days, challenging moments, times that are chaotic. A true positive mindset is not about pretending that there aren’t hard things in life. True positivity is about transforming those moments when they inevitably do happen. A positive mindset keeps you grounded, gives you patience, and sparks that creative genius for handling the curveballs parenting and life throws your way.
Through my journey to develop a positive mental mindset, I’ve discovered some absolute game-changer practices that I use every single day. And I want to share them with you.
So yeah, let’s make positivity your superpower.
Here are two of my go-to tips that help me keep a positive mindset every day:
1. Morning Rituals: Positive Self Talk & Affirmations
Before you even think about getting out of bed, set the tone of your entire day by starting it with some powerful affirmations. It’s like jumpstarting your day with a morning cup of coffee, except this is a boost for your heart, mind, and soul.
Anchor Your Morning with Affirmations
Say to yourself something like, “I am a brilliant leader for myself and my family,” or shout, “I have the power to bring happiness into my life every day!” Pick affirmations that resonate with you.
It’s so important to make this a part of your daily routine. Choose to show up for yourself every day and watch how positivity and goodness will begin to flow into your life.
Tips to help you be consistent with your daily affirmations:
- Stick a Post-it with your favorite affirmation on the bathroom mirror or your bedside table as a reminder, and say it out loud every time you see it.
- Mix it up! Rotate your affirmations weekly to keep them fresh.
- Share the positivity by encouraging your kids to create their own morning affirmations. Not only does this set a great example, but it also turns positive thinking into a family practice.
2. Listen to a Positive Song Every Morning
I know the day-to-day grind of parenting can sometimes feel like a marathon. So here’s a little hack: turn on some uplifting jams and let the music raise everyone’s spirits in your home every morning. Not only does it give you all a moment of joy, but it also helps you show up as the happy, engaged parent your kids love and need.
Music as a Mood Enhancer
Did you know that music can shift your mood faster than just about anything else? It’s true! Whether you’re dealing with trying to get everyone out the door on time or feeling unmotivated to run your errands, the right playlist can move you forward.
These are three other ways my family adds music to our daily routines that are great ways for you to start implementing in your life today:
- Encourage everyone in your family to add their favorite songs to playlists. This is such a fun way to keep your home feeling playful and energized.
- When you’re accomplishing your daily goals and crossing tasks off your list, turn on some fun music. Dance and play as you do things, like washing the dishes or making lunches, and watch how mundane things can feel like a game.
- At night, switch to a calming playlist to help everyone relax and unwind.
Music isn’t just for dance parties—it’s a powerful mood enhancer that can transform a chaotic morning or a sluggish afternoon into a joyful experience.
